So I bought this nice soapstone a few months back. Saw it in the background of a tag sale listing and asked if they’d ship it. They did and even threw in the tiny one I said I didn’t want to buy. A little basking walrus, because they wanted it to go to a good home. I only saw the side that you see in first my photo when buying it. I assumed I was buying a carving of one animal. I assumed it depicts an otter. I guess it could be a different mustelid but is likely an otter, right? Anywho, I received it and much to my surprise the other side of the carving shows another of the same species. Then it occurred to me, are they…doing it?? Do I have a pair of sexed up otters? Maybe they are just playing/rollicking as otters are prone to do. What do you think, playful or full on mating?
It does look like the "partner" has a fin rather than a paw like the otter. Inter-species hanky panky?
That's what I see. And no second otter tail either. I think your otter will go to sleep with a very full belly.
