Copper/silverplate symbol identification

    The worn markings on the cup itself look like fish scales and then stylized fish. The ones on the base are hard to distinguish. Are those the same or all different?

    They appear to be all the same. Definitely looks fish-like though. I’ll look into that. Hand inscription on the underside of the base appears to read “YPI”?

    Can you get a picture of that inscription?

    Got it! The inscription on the underside is actually part of the word “EGYPT” and a nearly identical one is listed on chairish as an “antique Egyptian vase from the early 1900’s”
