    Copper, suspect its from Islamic culture as well. no too sure. an item from my dad's collection. Couldn't find anything similar to this online.

    Welcome to the forum Yashini. I'm no expert but personally I'm not seeing any Muslim influence. Oddly enough it looks more European to me but that's just me. Could we have some pictures of the handle brackets? The way they are attached may provide some more clues.

    Although I have never seen a pail like this before, the style of decoration could be Persian.

    I'm thinking Indian, but the two overlap. The Indians made decorative pieces like this for the Western market and still do. They put a tin or whatever layer over the copper and then remove some of it. The pieces are supposed to look like really old ones without actually fooling anyone.
