Hey everyone, picked up this copper pot today and would like to know a little more about it. The design of the pot is little different than others ive come across. Usually the pod inside sits inside the boiling water but this one sits high inside the lid. There is a water reservoir seperating the pod. Meant for steaming? it almost looks like a still? Would like to know your thoughts. Thanks

A search for 'vintage copper percolator' is turning up some that are similar, although not an exact match right off.

Well, the conversation WAS on the old eBay board, and while I have it copied into my personal forum I am having trouble accessing said forum at the moment..............it is a password problem, which is worrisome as I have my password "remembered" and I was in there just a few days ago.................

Now I remember! Only took 24 hours, eh? It is often referred to as a Count Rumford pot - he invented the apparatus for the first percolators (as well as some heating stoves, etc.).

My memory is as slow as my blood circulation............almost as fast as sluggish............
