I got this group of watch faces for $1.00 at a yard sale today.
I believe the large ones are from railroad watches.
    They average 45 mm across

The one on the far right tests as sterling. I will make a pendant from this one.

The smaller sterling ones might make good steampunk earring jackets! That poor multicolored enameled one had a hard life. A pendant is a good use for it. (unless @kyratango has a better idea)

Haha! I was thinking the same thing!
I could fill in the missing areas and touch up the paint! I have a filling material that I use for such things. The painting is all hand done and it is really beautiful, in spite of the damage.
    What thinkest thou, @kyratango?

Yess, fill it and touch up, it is charming!:)
If it was mine, I’d try to adapt it as a cover on a anti aging eyelid cream... or to a booze bottle stopper:joyful:

    Yes, that's a great idea!
I'll affix it to the lid of a wooden trinket box or something similar!

Would make a fab necklace for those always running late. Not sure how big the faces are on the pieces.

It's hard to believe that all the numbers and lines are meticulously hand painted on nine of them.
There must've been only one hair on the brush!

Go to a hobby store and buy some mini clock workings ,turn them all into little clocks and hang them on a wall in a group. How cute would that be ??? :)

:woot: A BIT better??? :hilarious: NO!!!

You did an extraordinary restoration all the way, up to the tiny railroad and the gold accents, even match the color of the 11 to complete it!
You have a steady hand for succeeding such minuscule painting:wideyed::)

I’m interested to know what you used for the gold and what paint!

    BRAVO!!!!!!!!

    I'm so glad you approve!!!
'Cause you are the authority on this stuff!

The filler material is a wall patch product called Rock Hard. It is a powder that you mix with water to create a putty. But I mix it with white glue instead. (Elmer's).
It dries up super hard. It works so well for projects like this.
I used acrylic paint for the touch up. I had to play around with the white, adding some blue and brown to mimic the enamel color. I also used a metallic gold for the detail but the color wasn't quite right, so I added a bit of orange to make it darker. It still isn't exact, but that detail is so tiny that overall it seems to work. Then I sealed the retouched areas with clear nail polish.
