Cool pottery signed

Hello everyone, I was wondering if I ever posted this before, if not, can anyone make out the signature? Or tell me the style of this pottery piece?

The 'splodges' (apologies - I don't know how else to describe them) look like part of a crystaline glaze. Here in France there are a couple of potteries that do crystaline glazes - Alfred Renoleau of Angouleme (but yours might be a bit later - and the signatures are different), and Pierrefonds (they experimented a lot - so this is a possibility ... if it wasn't for the signature - again, very different - sorry). Related to this, many French potters sign their works with hand written signatures, so this might be worth investigating.

A lot of studio potters use crystalline glazes, and it's possible your mark is upside down.

 

I think you maybe up to something there janetjohn ... if I turn it upside down do I see"Elliott"?
