Cool "Oriental" Rug - but I'm an ignoramus!

A fellow antiquer asked me to sell this rug for him, but we both know next to nothing about carpets, so - Might this be worth trying to sell online? ANY information about this would be very welcome!
Pardon the uneven shading in the first couple of pix - I took this outside, and it was in partial sun, and partially shaded. (If/when I decide to sell, I'll lay it out properly in the driveway and climb a ladder for better pix.)
The last pic shows some wear near one end. How much might that affect the value - is that a deal-killer, or maybe still worth selling?

Oh, I forgot to give the size - it's approx. 51" x 78".

 

It's a very charming rug...
it looks like a bench there...so I'll guess 7 x 5 feet
Wear always affects value.....downward..
There are 100 million persian type rugs out there....so finding out exactly the make...& possible age will help.....but no one's gettin rich......
Oh..& shipping these heavy buggers.....not for the faint of heart ...

 

Persian city rug, but beyond that...dunno. A lot depends on the age and condition, but all I know about rugs is how to get cat barf out of one.

 

Well, THAT could be useful knowledge! In fact, one of our cats barfs fairly regularly; but we don't have any valuable rugs on the floor...

Beautiful, but we have enough kitties. Three sisters that have lived inside since 3 or 4 days old, plus their Mama that comes in and out.

Thanx to all for your help, especially Any Jewelry who provided the best, most specific answer. Though the rug looks pretty nice, in view of the damage, I think I'll be returning the rug to the consignor. I have too much other work, to spend the time listing that rug, perhaps for nothing.
