Cool looking locket but is it a newer reproduction?

    I got really excited about this at first but the light weight and finish of the metal make me really doubt its very old at all. It opens from the top down and measures approx 1 1/2" diameter. Chain has a spring ring. Overall great details even on the inside...     Nice piece. It could be new but if it were I would expect a lobster claw clasp.

    The design is not Art Nouveau, more like it's trying to be Victorian in style. My guess would be it was made the last third of the 20th century, JMHO :)

    Agree.

    Mekanah, your gut instinct (weight of the metal, etc.) that it more modern is correct. I would put this firmly in the 1970s.
