Cookie Jar ? Chinese or Japanese ?

    hello everyone

    One last post for the day.
    I have this jar which has a chip on the lid. Always wondered what is its use. Is it a cookie. Jar made for exports.
    The design looks Chinese to me. Can’t read what is written on the lid or on the bottom.

    You are right, it is Chinese. Originally used as a ginger jar, but now you can use it whichever way you like. These were also used in China.
    The writing on top could be a company name.
    The mark on the base is typical for the 20th century. It is difficult to see the exact mark, but you should be able to find it here:

    汪同顺造"Made by Wang Tongshun" - a chinese republic period artisan. His work is not high desirable, but still worth collecting. Anyway, it is a nice jar.
