    Hi,
    I was always taught if the cameo has a skinny nose and a sort of pony tail hair style it is new. Of course I was taught that in the 60s.

    Rhodium plated and texturized backs on most jewelry would indicate newer.

    I think it is current in the last 10 years.

    You don't give size, but if it is about an inch or less, it is probably a pierced earring with a broken hoop.
