Comments please- Pastel art

Hi all,what do you all think of this drawing? I rather like it. The artist surname: Strauss. Date.. 6’78? But what of the initials? The image itself is 23cm x 38cm.

Poignant. I see Strauss too but can't make out initial. G perhaps? Why don't you remove backing?

Thanks for the comment Debora. Yes,it tells a story. I only now later noted the silhouette in the back ground. Maybe the man or father scowled the boy and now the mother is comforting him?

 

Probably sounds silly,I did like it more before I noted that silhouette. But also now it’s more thought provoking.

 

I only just saw it now, after you pointed it out.
