Featured Collection of attributed watercolors

Just picked these up today for a song. Looks like they came from a single collection. The Caswell I think is attributed incorrectly.
All of them are watercolor on paper.
The last one if it can be authenticated would be nice.

Not prints , 100% authentic watercolors and this one is much better than your example. Not saying they are authentic but .....

 

the names and dates on them seem to suggest not real imho

 

Also that is a oil on canvas and looks like a study.

 

Maybe not, paid nothing for them so I guess we will see. I can only hope lol

 

yeah they seem like very strong works of art, have you taken a loupe to them ?

I'd be skeptical about picking up a Turner watercolor "for a song."

I buy stuff from estates they have no idea what they are selling. Bought one painting for $200, sold it for $25000. Another, $275 for a 17th C Russian silver icon tryptic, $34000. It happens all the time.

So, we've got four works, all behind glass and you believe them to be watercolors. They are by: 1) George Caswell (1868-1911), 2) Thomas Lound (1802-1861), 3) John Callow (1822-1878), 4) J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851).

I can't find reference to a British artist named George Caswell on the internet so perhaps someone misinterpreted the signature?

Thomas Lound was an amateur painter of the Norfolk School. Is the work attributed to him signed? And, if so, could/would you post a close-up photograph?

The work attributed to John Callow appears to be a copy of the Turner work 'Rochester on the Medway.' Is it signed? And, if so, could/would you post a close-up photograph?

The work attributed to Turner isn't exactly what one expect from the artist (e.g. jewel-like tones, atmospheric experimentation.) Is it signed? And, if so, could/would you post a close-up photograph?

They appear to be uniformly presented in contemporary purposefully-distressed frames with calligraphed mats which makes one think they are decorator items. Could/would you post a photograph a full frame? And do any of them have any stickers, labels or hand-written notations on the back. If so, could/you would post close-up photographs?

I mainly would like to see what anyone gets from this signature please. I don't think it is Caswell.

 

A Continental scene. Name doesn't appear to be Caswell. Anything on the back? Have you opened the work up?
