There are also some corners that are bent upward and I'm wondering if there is a method better than just hammering those suckers back down. One of the two center handles has been pulled out. How do I replace this? And any idea what kind of mechanism goes through the two slots below those handles?

For context, the dresser is 22"l x 14"w x 24"h and I bought it off someone who said it has been sitting in a barn for years. Oiling it is cleaning it up nicely, though the metal needs attention.

There's green oxidation, some scratches, as well as areas that are faded to silver. All metal except the hinges are brad nailed to the wood.

Please ask if there's more info needed. Mostly wondering how to clean the metal without damaging it or the wood around it.

Nice cabinet @Bblade , nice avatar pic as well.
I have closure pins or Chinese locks on my Chinese cabinets. I recommend using them, for the complete look of the piece, if anything else.
    Ditto!
I was tempted to bend some of mine so I could follow Roarings excellent instructions.:joyful:

Oh no, you're right I need to share a full picture. And I feel I'd be cheating everyone if I didn't show the inside, as well. Haven't worked on it yet except oil, which did amazing things for it.

I'd be curious about the value of the cabinet, though I don't have plans to sell it.
