This appears to be a low grade silver Arabic style trinket case, pill box, I've polished it up and it looks a lot better than the pictures shown.

Can anyone help with the marks please.

    Photos are awful.

    Beautiful!
It is Persian (Iranian), and .840 silver.
The mark is based on the Russian 84 zolotniki mark, the equivalent being .875 silver, but the Persians used it for .840 millessimal fineness.

I have a feeling this is going to be a doozy of a house clearance!!:happy:

I can't wait to see what else you find in the coming days. :wideyed::wideyed:

We would love to know some details as you have provided before about the original occupant. ;):happy:

Anyone who had random bits of Persian silver kicking around might have all sorts of odds and ends.

    It certainly is :D

The guy aged 74 died suddenly at home in March.

Family who are from out of town have searched the property and taken what they wanted or needed.

I've taken out about £2.5k of 18k gold and some other silver jewellry, lots of tools, foreign currency, food and booze including Ouzo, Whisky, Sangria, Port, Sherry, Vodka, Cognac, bourbon, and cases of my favorite beer, Becks and Stella, plus the silver and China I have shown.
All that was on a my preliminary 4 hour search.

Its very large house and I estimate it will take probably 10 days to clear.

I'm hampered by the fact that I need parking permits for each vehicle outside.

It is a high illegal immigrant area and when they get a whiff of something moving they are like flies around shite.

Thankfully due to religious and cultural habits they tend not to like dogs and I have permission from the relatives to have my dog on the premises whilst I'm there.

Buzz just sits in the ground floor bay window staring out watching the world go by, bewildered why these scavengers just walk or run quickly away.:D

    WOWSER!!! :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop: :greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy: :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

It sounds like if you can find some kind of goodies for Buzz everyone in the house will be very happy with this clearance. ;) :D:D:D

I am just curious, do family & friends get to shop your liquor cabinet sometimes? There is no way you can drink everything you drag out of these house clearances & still function. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

We look forward to more photos along the way.:happy:

All it takes are two or three nice chains and there ya go. People put jewelry in weird places too, or in the bathroom. You take it off before a shower or some such, and there it stays. (unless it's mine and it never went into the bathroom in the first place.) Then along comes a Davey and away it goes.

The discovery of "cases of my favorite beer".... I'm sure that put a smile on your face, Davey.

No doubt it is a ton of work this kind of thing, but I'm sure these surprise perks keep you going!
