Cigar case/holder with flower relief

Hi all,please assist. What is the age and possible origin of this three finger cigar case/holder? Brass and looks to have been silverplated (looks silverplated when opened)? Well I was thinking 1920’s or so? Was also wondering if those were
maybe Iris flowers? (Bearded Iris or Japanese Water Iris?) Thanks for any comments and keep well.

 

A bit earlier. That whiplash line puts it in the Art Nouveau period. (1890-1910.) The iris was a popular floral motif then. Here's a tile of the period with the same design elements. Your case would be considered torpedo-shaped.

Can't tell if it's a gilded white metal or was a silver plated brass

If it is a brass I'd be tempted to give it a polish up, could come up quite lovely

 

I can see what you mean. But I think it/was sliverplated brass.

 

Flag iris aka bearded. Not iris reticulata.
