Not mine but wanting a second opinion. Chinese yeh? I’ve seen this motif before but can’t think of what it’s called. It’s a wise man and his disciples or followers I believe. It’s called 1,000 this or 100 that I think. Owner claimed it’s over 100 years old. The base and rim make it look brand new to me. Thoughts? Certainly does!!! Thanks for finding these. Often copied design I guess. The material on the one I found seems a little darker than those two. Now that I have resin in mind the neck really does look more synthetic. I have a feeling the seller may be knowingly misrepresenting it, hopefully I’m wrong. He claims to be quite the antique expert...

oh , he claims does he........

I'm on board for resin !!!!
Once you see that same damn thing over and over.........don't let a minor color change get in the way of the truth !!

The one J posted was already a clear and definite positive for resin. Not a good quality resin copy either.:sorry:

I'm glad people are saying resin. That was my immediate reaction.

A good luck gift, "100 children" or "may you be fruitful and have lots of kids so your family line will never die." These good luck/long life gifts also come as embroidered (and now printed) quilts, paintings, etc.

Yeah, 90% of them are made by resin and contemporary. You can feel it when you are holding it.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I hope so, too. It even looks like resin to me, and I don't have enough knowledge to tell definitively from a photo!

We can safely say he’s lying about something. Either being an expert or this being at least 100 years old (any maybe much more he says!).
