Featured Chinese Sterling Filigree & Enamel Brooch with Brown Jade?

I've seen many of these sterling filigree brooches from China, many marked but this one is not. (This does test as sterling.) The center stone with bamboo carving almost looks like tortoise shell but it tests in the jade range on my gem tester. It is slightly translucent. I couldn't find any brown jade online. Is there another gem that would test as jade? This is not smoky quartz unless my tester is wonky as it's above that range.

And, is there a name for this style of filigree brooch with enamel borders and a carved center stone? Thanks!

The silver is probably not sterling, but more likely somewhere in the .800 range.

Jade can come in just about any colour, including various shades of brown.
The maker mounted the stone upside down.

Chinese Export Silver. You can add filigree, cloisonné, and jade of course.

 

Plique a jour perhaps...

 

The enamel is all backed, so there is no plique-à-jour on this brooch.

 

Not tiger's eye since it's translucent and has no banding.

My acid test yielded the results I get when I test marked sterling.

I did notice the upside-down orientation of the bamboo, can't do anything about that, bummer! Well, I guess I have that 1 in a 1000 with an odd color jade. Thanks to you all!
