Chinese Silk Embroidery

It was laid over cardboard and framed. Wonder if it was part of a dress or made for decoration.
    Any help with the Asian characters?
    Also, the stamp Milnor, could it be of the LA store/importer from the 20-40’s?

    The top character is a little hard to see clearly, it appears to be torn through the middle and wraps in behind slightly...

    Is this the case? can you supply a better, flatter photo of the text?
