chinese? shoulder boards/epaulets

Anyone help identify/ age these??

 

Chinese WWII army insigna bars with 3 red lines:
1 Star = Major, 2 Stars = Lt. Colonel, 3 Stars = Colonel

2 wider red stripes:
1 star = 2nd lieutenant, 2 stars = 1st lieutenant, 3 stars = captain

The box housed a medal.....be interesting to know what is says.
Could be added value in the box alone !!

Note that the box marking uses a term for China, 支那 (read Zhina in Chinese), which for historical reasons is now considered derogatory among Chinese people:

I do not, I just took the badges out for photo
