I've just purchased a Chinese footed prawn dish possibly dating from the two middle quarters of the 19th century.
I would appreciate any tips or advice as to how to narrow down the probable reign period of manufacture - if that's at all possible. The base is unmarked, and has a very slight, but not excessive 'orange-peel' surface. The foot rim flecks seem to be from wear to the glaze surface, rather than adhering kiln grit. Other than that, there's not much I can say.
Will be obliged for any help whatsoever !

Very nice. I hope they turn out to be what you think. I'd eat my prawns from them.

It's beautiful, looks to have some quality and age.

Not an expert in these. Maybe if you can get a rough translation of what the characters read -- could help in research.

We have a few people who are good with Asian items, but may not be around this week. @Ce BCA
