Hello I've heard these were made to weigh coins for some reason and also that the "China" mark without "Made In" dates to circa pre-1920s. Any improvement on this? Does anyone know what the character means in the centre portions? ITs the same on each one so not units of weight $_57 - 2021-07-08T132523.394.jpg $_57 - 2021-07-08T132410.105.jpg $_57 - 2021-07-08T132139.315.jpg $_57 - 2021-07-08T132123.267.jpg

Sorry to be the sceptic but why do you need 5 nesting ashtrays to carry around in a handy container, thanks
