chinese mud man figure age

hi folks,

anyone know approx age of this figure i found today

i usually see quite alot of the newer type ones around and dont like them very much but hoping this one might be a bit older

the similar ones im seeing online usually have china stamped to the base but this one has a 3 digit number stamped

measures 4 1/2 inches, no chips or damage

any thoughts appreciated

I believe that these were made in China to sell at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. I have 2 that I purchased years ago near St. Louis because I thought they were so unique and interesting. I think that they were called "mud figures."
