Chinese MOP Women on Black Lacquer

I bought these at the Goodwill about 6-7 years ago and paid 50.00 a piece.. the most I ever spent on something I knew "nothing" about but I fell in love with them. I do see a few pieces of the mop missing but "oh well". Anyway, what would I call these and how old are they? Did I get reamed?

Are they attached to each other? If so, could they be a folding screen?

If not, maybe they are to hang on the wall.

 

No they are seperate and have hangers on top for the wall. I just haven't found a space to hang them

I had a folding silk screen years ago and gifted it to one of my daughters.

 

These are lacquered wood.

 

I'd say they represent the sea goddess Yoni releasing the fish-dragon spirit Pow Ting to round up the sardine herds.

 

What about age? I'd say 1930s-1950s.
