Chinese? Japanese? That look like large rattles for drums

Not sure if these are Japanese or Chinese they have a mix of Coppertone and brass and of course not sure if these are genuine antiques or just made to look antique they are very heavy they feel like they weigh almost 10 pounds each and quite large. You pick one up and you feel like you're almost carrying the hammer of Thor

Any information would be helpful
