I have a pair of these with rose medallion decor - they are contemporary potpourri jars. The seal mark is fake but is it supposed to be Qianlong?

Looks like it, although it contains errors. Clearly an apocryphal mark as you say.

Might be a bough pot rather than a potpourri jar.

Quite a lovely pot, I assume it is Macau.
