Chinese Embossed Bronze Lamp

Hello,

Does anyone have any knowledge of this lamp? Was it always a lamp or possibly a vessel turned lamp? I’m assuming vintage. I’m pretty sure it’s bronze and weighs approx 22 lbs. Approx 32” tall including the finial.
What the approx age might be and possibly the value? I’m having a hard time finding any info.

Think it is fairly modern and always a lamp. It is in an archaic Chinese style but does not reproduce any exact object from antiquity.

 

Ditto. Probably not Chinese made, with those coloured bands.

I do have the shade I bought it with, but I don’t think it’s the original. Doesn’t match in my opinion.

It's a nice shade, but NOT on that lamp. The lamp is begging for a four-sided shade of some sort. Colored to match one of the bands on the lamp if you can find one.

 

A drum shade would look interesting. Fun piece!

 

That would work. The less fussy the better; all the eyes should be on the lamp base.
