    Not valuable, not grand.
But could look nice in a pretty frame.. or whatever. I have no use for these (I have about 30 other pictures of different sizes from the same book as well)

Now I'm giving away these two.

The pictures are from a 1899 swedish encyclopedia.

    They each measure around 6 x 9cm (2.4 x 3.5 inches)

I will announce the winner a week from now (if someone even wants these..)

I will pay the cheapest shipping (I have no idea how much that is going to be but oh well)

    Please put my name in.

I am intrigued by the source, their age, and the subject matter.

If I am the lucky winner, I promise they will be used by me as bookmarks.;)

The book I cut these off of was printed in 1899.... as you probably realized. At first I thought that was a question :dead:

I saw that you mentioned 1899 in your first posting.

Now I'll let you in on how I measure/relate to how old something is.

If it is a masculine object I use my Grandfather's birth year to determine how old he was when the item was produced (or in this case published).

If it is a feminine object I use my Grandmother's birth year to determine how old she was when the item was produced/published.

It's just a little "quirk" I have to relate an item back to people I remember so very fondly and imagine that they could have held the object in their hands.

My Grandfather was 24 years old and my Grandmother was 17 years old when the book was published. ;)

    Congratulations, evelyb30!

And bluemoon, what was your technique of random generation? Sounds interesting!

I just wondered... some people have their cats do the selection. I have put names on pieces of paper and shaken them up and drawn from a hat. So now I know another method. :)
