Chest of drawer from the forties maybe?

I found this piece that I think is interesting. I guess that it would qualify s a chest of drawers? I'm guessing that it is forties vintage (slotted screws, ply drawer bottoms, machined dove tails, and that finish that I remember from my grandfathers furniture). But then again I don't know much.

IMG_4479.JPG IMG_4479.JPG IMG_4480.JPG I'm thinking about buying it. Does anyone have any thoughts on style, age, value, etc. Any Info will be greatly appreciated (I love to learn).

I think it is one side of a vanity.
I had one in the store that was from England. The two sides came apart from the middle, and the middle was the base for the mirror.

It would make a functional bedside table.

This one is somewhat similar, however the mirror seems to be attaching to the two sides. The one I had, the mirror was attached to the middle.

Some were made as stand alone nightstands like this. If separated from a vanity, there should be some signs of this. I think a bit earlier than the 40s. 20s-30s by my estimate.

A night stand. I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Also; I agree with you that there should be some sign if it were attaches to a center piece.

What indicates that it may be 20' or 30's and not 40s'?

Any thoughts on weather or not it is worth purchasing?

There appears to be discoloration on the back, and possible screw holes.

As to whether it is worth purchasing, you have to be the one to determine that. Don't buy for investment, you won't get your money back at this time. Buy because you like it, it fits with your needs and it is priced at what you are willing to pay.

That said, in my Northern CA area, probably priced around $65 give or take a few dollars. Where you are located will make a difference on how things are priced.

I can pick it up for a really reasonable price. I will probably buy it and keep it for my own use for a few months and then sell it on. I just want to be able to recover my investment so I can use it to buy the next piece.

    Thank you for the advice.

If you like it, I am sure it will all come out in the wash.
