    Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can help me with details of this chess set? The style is not typical and i'm not sure of age or material. My best guess is 40's/50's but I'm really not sure.
Condition isn't perfect and it's missing a piece, but it is 'unusual". Any details much appreciated.
    Thanks.

My guess is carved bone. What piece is missing? There's your problem.

This is a fairly standard photo of a chess set that gives a clear view of the style:

Thanks both. The style name is Selenus then .. One of the castles is missing and there is some damage to pieces. Around the crown areas mainly. Guess it's hard to put a age on them. Plenty of wear and tear though, and it does look old. Been in the family a long time too. Mid 20 century possibly, maybe older?
