    Hi All,
Would the design on this Chinese smoking set be considered Cloisonne or Champleve? From reading up on the difference I think Champleve, but I've been wrong before.
    any information appreciated
    thanks for looking

thanks johnny and aquitaine:) Yes, I saw that, makes me think Champleve also but wasn't sure.
As for is it silver, I don't know. I thought they were copper or brass but now that I have them in hand I'm not sure. The feet on all 3 pieces are copper or at least copper coloured.
The base of the match holder is silver coloured
DSCF4906.jpg the base of the cigarette box is brass coloured but the corners have the colour rubbed off and are silver colour

the ashtray is copper coloured but again the corners are silver coloured

Agree, champleve. Bird design not hand-done, but cast in place.
