CHALKWARE? RESIN? AUNT JEMIMA - ISH WAITRESS HOLDING UP HAMBURGER & FRIES

I found this at a thrift store today - what the heck was it for? It's 22" tall and there is a suction cup on top of the waitress's head & the hamburger (there is a small hole where in the fries where that suction cup was).
Was it a table & the cups held glass top in place?
What is it made of? - It feels/sounds like resin or plastic maybe? (feels like one of them + sounds kinda like one + hollow when I thump it), but looking at the bottom of the base, and you see where it was hand painted & suddenly I'm thinking chalkware?
Any idea what this is/was? I think it'd make a great décor piece for any kitchen & some restaurants?

I'm a little confused with her, she was obviously meant to advertise the burger and fries as they are enormous and the focal point ... but WHY the full length dress and headscarf ? I like her but feel a little uneasy ... don't mind me .. I'm just meandering ... Joy.

I'm thinking that .. her huge breasts and arse don't help .. I still like her but wouldn't purchase her. I think I'll leave this thread and keep my thoughts to myself, .. Joy.

 

What happens when you scratch the bottom, resin and chalkware will react differently

Yes but very little

 

I don’t think resin would do that. Where you scratched it, is it whiter or the same color as the unscratched bottom?

Based on your answers, my non expert opinion runs toward resin.

 

I think she is 1980-90ish or after.
That's when there was a revival of Aunt Jemima type pieces in the gift stores and kitchen stores.

You say she is hollow.
My guess is that she is plaster with a piece of cardboard covered plaster for the bottom.

Might be a counter display and have been used in a restaurant with toothpicks/mints and business cards in little dishes that fit the suction cups.

 

I agree with your dating and purpose.
