Featured Chalk pastel landscape painting... large vintage... help id?

A friend just showed me this gorgeous chalk pastel landscape... she knows nothing about it. Anyone out there who can point me to who this artist is and any idea of comp value??

I believe it is in the original frame (painted Empire to look like mahogany)... and in LOVELY condition. The piece is probably around 24 x 18? The friend didn't like it at all! Pity!

Any help would be appreciated. I didn't see a date - unless it is part of his scribble.

Does look like maybe Alek to me too. Makes me think of one of those upmarket lifestyle golf estates. Like something for a office or clubhouse.

 

But yes a very pretty and tranquil scene.

 

Those are typically early 20th century. Would you post a photograph please of the back?

Hi Debora, I'm sorry the picture isn't in my possession and the gal doesn't have FB or internet - so I can't readily get one. BUT, I did look on the back. It was several layers of very thin, wavy (warped), DIRTY cardboard held in with nails. If it once had a back paper; I didn't notice any remnants of it; may have been removed at some point? or maybe it was never there.

Looking on a phone, I can't tell as well as on a computer, but... the last part appears to start with an H. Maybe Hart? But the "t" is not crossed.
