I have this necklace which I have not been able to identify for years. I am so Thankful for finding this website and all the help from members here, you are all so awesome...
i think this necklace has sage or some type of plant life on it, not sure if ceremonial or what, if so by who, what tribe etc. I'm racking by brain, ouch ouch ouch, any help out there in this big universe ?

    Thanks Everybody

I see horn, turquoise, coconut shell(?) and ...???? No idea. It's begging me to restring it, or for someone to fix it. Those little beads at the end and the bone pipe beads make me think it's 60s or later with good odds on later. The little ones near the clasp had gold paint on them originally; it's long gone.

I've never smoked anything but salmon and the occasional broiler mishap, and I don't know any more either.

Herb may be the reason you bought that ugly thing to begin with. :)

Yes, it looks like California white sage, which is used in smudge, as a cleansing herb in ceremonies. Smudging is cleansing energy through smoke, by wafting smoke over a person, item, or area.
Could be Native American, or from just about any New Age ritual. It is used a lot in modern Shamanic practice and in Wicca. I've even seen so-called Siberian Shamans use it. I'm sure the genuine Siberian Shamans use their own native herbs.
