    Does the clasp age this brooch and thus what it’s likely to be made of?

    Sweet little thing!

    It looks like saw marks on the back, so I'm voting for "not celluloid."

    "Just plastic" seems so harsh... and there was a day, not that long ago,* you couldn't give celluloid jewelry away.


    *"not that long ago" being an Old Person measure of time equating to approximately 20 years (generally considered the minimum)

    Looks like it goes into my hoard for 20 years for when people are avidly collecting 'just plastic'!
    50/60s or even later?

    I would have guessed that as 1970s, but I am not to be trusted with dating.
