This came in today and we at first thought it was an antique piece. However, researching the seal on Gotheborg indicates the wax seal is an Export Approval Seal and the piece probably dates to the 1920's to 1950's. I'm wondering if the experts here concur? The vase is 17 inches high and weighs just slightly under 9 pounds.
    Thanks! ... Dave

    Hi,
I agree. The seal was put on things that were NOT considered a national treasure. I have several 100 to 150 years old pieces with the seals. The seals were put on everything that were deemed export worthy. A friend has a very old cup 400 years old with a seal. It was unusual for a group of people to look at thousands of pieces every day to find all the treasures.

Thanks for the info greg. BTW, I will be away from the board for a couple of days if there are additional commenters, but will check upon my return.
