Celadon green pottery stoneware whiskey jug with cork stopper missing label help ID

This jug is 8" tall I presume that it use to hold whiskey, it might have held something else like syrup. I have been trying to find a comparable jug for at least 3 weeks. I love the shape and color of this beautiful little jug. maybe someone has seen it before with a label

I had one of these once (different color and shape), so I knew it right away.

Today is the first time I've seen any of the Mohawk liqueur bottles with original boxes. I admit it's been at least a decade since last time I looked at them. At that time, I never was able to find out who manufactured the pottery bottles for Mohawk.

Now there are a few on-line with original boxes labelled "Mohawk Fiesta Ware", but there doesn't seem to be any verifiable connection with Homer Laughlin as the maker of the pottery. Just the fact that the Mohawk Co packaged and marketed them as Fiesta Ware.

This has given me an idea. I have an ashtray that a friend gave me thinking it was Fiesta. I wonder if it had anything to do with this Mohawk liqueur bottle?

Thanks lauragarnet for the box and all that additional information, Wow mine does not have a box, but it has its cork still attached that's rare. Gregsglass the fiesta the color of your ashtray is similar to a green fiesta bowl I recently sold. The buyer said it was the original green color when Fiesta was first introduced. Your looks a slight bit darker. lots of similarities between Homer Fiesta Ware and Mohawk Fiesta Ware, I agree, very interesting to say the least.

I have been collecting and selling Fiesta for 40 years now. The green is the light green that Homer Laughlin made for years. The newer green made since 1986 is different. The ashtray was given to me 30 years ago. I have never been able to finds its maker. The topic about Mohawk just gave me the idea, perhaps by them.
