Cat or pig? odd card holder

Someone from Narnia must have made this....
At first I thought it was a cat, then saw the snout nose and the legs? I think it is brass or bronze. No marks found. Anyway, I can't find anything like it in my searches. Any ideas of age and anything else you can add would be wonderful. Thanks for your time.

 

I've seen a bunch of cats in this style... and the tail sure looks like a cat. But that snout!

I think the snout was dinged perhaps from a fall.

Its a cat's tail and ears with a pig snout. It's obvious the designer was having difficulty of some sort. But then, some people don't know potatoes grow in
the ground either.

 

Complicating ID is the fact that similar items have become popular in the imported décor market, coming from India/China and who knows where.
So it could well be old, but could also be a newer import.
And it sure looks like a snouted cat, or long-tailed pig.....

Greg, thank you, I don't think it was dinged, unless the snout was damaged in the making process. There is no damage, and there are 2 nostrils and a mouth also on the snout. Hard to see in pics though cause they are so dark.

Thanks for your reply on age, I was wondering that myself. Just seems though, if it were recent, that I'd be able to find another in searching, but IDK?

 

I must be attracted to odd animals....there was recently a necklace with a pottery bird on it that I sent to Gila, and that looked like an eagle/toucan.
Last year there was this cast iron bird, that I posted here

I've got an explanation! So the designer wanted it to be a pig, which is obvious from the snout. However the tail needed to be long enough to help the legs support the body. So he sticks with the long tail knowing full well no one would notice. He figures, "some folks don't know where potatoes come from, they probably don't know what a pigs tail looks like either. I'm good. "

(For those who didn't know... this is the weird pendant Tye gave me because I was in love with it... we never did "diagnose" it here, but I'm quite sure it is a rare and powerful talisman which just hasn't chosen to reveal itself fully... yet)
