I've had this for many years on my wall. Thrift store or yard/estate sale find. I can't remember where or exactly when I found it? Doubt I paid more than $10. I've never been able to identify the artist or the era. Image area only is about 8 x 5.75 inches. Looks like it's framed under UV protected plexiglass.

Assuming this is the same Zora as on the back of the frame. She passed in 2012 at 91.

    Any ideas?

Castro Gil. Here's biographical information off the internet.

"Manuel Castro Gil, a native of Lugo born in 1891. He was an engraver at the Mint and Bank of Spain, and a professor of artistic engraving at the National School of Graphic Arts. Great master of etching. He engraved the castle in two different versions (19x24 and 11x15 cm). In one of them pinkish tones dominate and in another the blue ones. Both original models are kept today in the Cathedral and Diocesan Museum of Mondoñedo, donated to it by a distinguished Galician politician who donated them, as the director of the museum happens to be from Segovia."

Awesome! Thank you so much. I've been wondering about it for years.

I could tell it was an engraving and his technique reminds me of currency. So it was fun to learn that he was involved in bank notes.

The one I have is the 19x24cm paper size.

This is a lovely etching. It's nice that you've gotten to enjoy it for some time.
