Cast Metal Boy & Girl Sculpture ?

    I have had this for several years. Measures 7.5" High - Base 5.25 by 2.75"
    Would it be called a sculpture or does it have a utilitarian use ie bookend.
    There is some scratching on the under side but I cannot find any mark.
    Any idea of age, maker, or other comments would be helpful.

    Rayo you made my day. Yes, the scratching on the back is his signature. I can make out some letters now that you identified the sculpture.

    The boy looks to be pulling her ponytail. They pulled mine all through grade school!
