I bought these guys at an auction....thinking they were brass. Saw something really similar on etsy and they called them "cast metal". These do seem to have somewhat of a patina (my thoughts as to them being brass)....can anyone give me insight? MCM? Value, are they worth anything. I paid like $17 for the pair thinking they were cool, one has a broken toe. THANKS!

Maybe MC, but definitely not MCM. MCM doesn't cover everything made in the mid 20th century, only items with a Modernist design.
My guess is they were made in Asia somewhere, anytime in the last 60 years.

They don't look like common North American pheasants to me. Maybe from another part of the world.

They look like golden pheasants. Originally all pheasants were Asian, but not all were introduced elsewhere. You can find golden pheasants outside China though, I've seen them here as well.

This pair could have been made in China.

I suspect inspired by the bird figures of Mario Buccellati which were widely copied in their time. One example below.

Anyway to tell what kind of metal they're made of?? There are no markings whatsoever on these birds.

I'd think those were Asian imports too. 1960s maybe. A decorative item for a more sophisticated middle class home.

Thinking about just throwing them on Ebay and letting them find their value....

That Mario Buccellati pheasant looks much like the silver table centrepieces of pheasants, ducks, cockerels etc which were already fashionable long before Mario Buccellati's time.
