ohhh - I checked the base and there are no holes for a cord to come out - so I dont think it was ever a lamp...

doh! doh! I just discovered a slot in the tree - maybe that helps someone identify what it is... and no - I tried to turn the metal thing it doesn't move...

It’s a strike-a-lite lighter, the wand is in the stump, you strike the tip of the wand on the strike strip and it lights the tip.

Can you get the wand out of the stump without damaging? I’ve seen them stuck before, a little wd40 should help.
They’re quit collectible, Ronson made many under the Ronson name and the earlier “Art Metal Works” name.

I believe you will need a flint strip to go inside the slot in the tree:)

My Ronson doggie needed a strip when I got him, ordered it from the Ronson Repair site

Didn’t you score a tank quite a few years ago? Maybe it was a touch tip, the type where the wand is pushed down on a push button flint.

I don't remember a tank, but maybe this one, a cannon of some sort. Only photo I can find, the others are on my old computer:)

I did get the wand out with a firm twist - the wand has flint still on the bottom of it - I will have to try to contact Ronson to try to get a strip - thanx again and thanx to all who shared!
