Carved wood moose head display need help with what to call it

I have this object that has me puzzled. It's probably not technically art I suppose but I wasn't sure where else to ask. I don't think it is half of a book end, and as a shelf small items would slide off. I'm calling it a moose for lack of knowing what exactly it is and it could be a reindeer as it has a Scandinavian look to me. The head is carved wood with glass eyes and the rest is particle board. It stands around 6 7/8" tall. There are no markings on it other than the faint outline of where a rectangular sticker was once on the back below the head. I would be very thankful for any suggestions on this. I know it's not high art, but is does have an interesting vibe to it. Thanks again.

Looks like it was part of an Indian Guides or Boy Scout project.Too big to be a Sgt. Preston of the Yukon cereal premium.
Poor lad blew all his budget on the moose head,the rest looks to be of particle board.

 

The moose head is well done. The rest looks like a junior high shop project. Very odd. Not a boot jack, since particle board falls apart when it gets wet.

 

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. The area where the moose head and the base are joined at the top seem to have been carved at the same time. Yes, the whole thing seems to make little sense.

 

The basic shape is like a display stand for a book, but it would have to be a small book.
