Carved wood figures. Chinese? Type of wood?

    They are about 4" high. Who are they? Are they Chinese? What type of wood? Thanks for your time.:)

    Dunno, based on the number, the Eight Immortals? Maybe boxwood? I have what I believe is a light colored boxwood Chinese carving and it has tight grain but is finer carved. Just guessing.

    Wonderful SIS, I think you are right!! I did a bit of searching and found that the 8 Immortals consisted of 7 men & 1 woman, which is what is depicted here with these carvings. Thank you so very much, that is a great help.:):)
