    Hey All,

picked up this piece today and was wondering if the artist was “carol” or am I missing something on the words to the right? Any thoughts? 863E2FA3-9A83-4C21-B231-87B3118FD635.jpeg 0FBA3FC9-CDE3-4BFF-A59A-F9799358DE5F.jpeg 50300E84-A144-43CD-853C-C207B5FF2D8E.jpeg 9E979051-30BE-46CA-8248-A9D32C7FE207.jpeg

Tyler, I would think that "Carol" is the title of the piece (probably the subject).

The artist's signature looks to be:
    ID sig.jpeg

(which I'm sure someone here can decipher...)

    Perhaps Florence Way Fink?

'Carol' is the title. The artist is (Terence?) Fink Edit: Florence Way? Fink.

    Can anyone follow this?

Florence was a loving mother to her children, Steven (Lisa) Fink, Leslie (Steve) Friedlander, Carol (Mike) Pratt and Abbie Galvin.

Source for this info? No Carol in obit.

For @Tylerhawkens The 'Imp.' after Fink is not part of her name:

Imp. - Abbreviation for the Latin word “impressit”, this mark may be found after the signature if the artist printed their own work.

I'll bet you haven't had to write too many obits! I got very used to this format when I was freelancing...

    Is Abbie divorced?

Quite possibly, unless she changed her name for another reason - OR had a different father than the other children.

If she were widowed, her late spouse would (should) have been referenced.

Note: There are very occasionally cases of very bad blood, where certain people are intentionally excluded from an obit!

Sometimes, too, a newspaper will "drop a line" and leave off a person or two. Exactly that happened when my business partner's mother died. His sister and her spouse were unintentionally "dropped" when the obit was printed. (Their 2 kids were included.)

The sister was NOT amused and claimed it was intentional. Since I personally wrote and submitted the obit, I KNEW FOR A FACT that she & her spouse were included in the original copy.

My hometown newspaper absolutely mangled my mother's obit. She had been a kindergarten teacher & I wanted her adult former students to know of her passing. They got what school when tangled up.
