Hello Recently, I found some solid gold (18ct) cufflinks in some family possessions. We believe these cufflinks may have been my Great Grandfather’s but we are not too sure. We were able to trace the hallmark to Carlo Weingrill. The cufflinks weigh 10 grams and I will upload photos. Does anyone have any idea of their worth? Please and thank you, Zara
The minimum they will be worth is scrap, but those are very wearable, by both genders. I wear cufflinks with double cuff women's shirts. Weingrill is premium: have a look at their website and their new links sell for four figures. Your best bet is simply look at what else is on sale.
Check the auction sites for comperables. If I had those I'd cheerfully wear them. The shirt I have on today is menswear (I take a 34 sleeve USA sizes) and french cuffs. For the newer members, I'm female too.
They are really lovely! The company itself (which is fortunately still going) is appraising them and getting back to me next week. I think this is the best way since I can’t seem to find many of these cufflinks for sale. I noticed the high prices of Weingrill pieces but the price point tends to reflect the weight of the gold!
Unfortunately, there are not too many for sale. I stumbled upon some sold items but the prices would not be revealed unless you are a member
I thought maybe both elements could face out, but now realize the solid shape is most likely the fastener.
