    Yes, thanks alot! So I think that even if I pay about $150 for the set, which is what I think I can get it for that would be a pretty good deal. What do you guys think? I would love to keep these forever and give them to my oldest daughter but I dont want to give more for them than I could recoup if I ever needed to sell it for some reason.

    Its sort of an unofficial policy that we don't set prices here. Note that you've been referred to prices sold and not sold as a guide. We'd love to help, but we're here for identification, Ebay is there for prices. (though I don't think they planned it that way.) Most folks consider Ebay to be a wholesale venue, as are most auctions. Retail should be about twice what Ebay receives.

    Oh ok sorry about that, thanks for the heads up. I would like to know a little bit more about the pieces too especially the vintage. But thanks again for letting me know.

    I think so too, and it is totaly chip free! Just keeping it that way for the next 20 years is the trick lol.

    but I dont want to give more for them than I could recoup if I ever needed to sell it for some reason.

    I understand your thinking,
    but there is almost nothing I can think of , short of a bond or T-Bill, that there is any certainty to get your cost price out of at a later date.
    Certainly not at this price range ......

    If you like it & want to pass it on....and can afford it......buy it for those reasons.

    Welcome to our forum!! :happy::happy:

    You may want to read this related thread that was posted a few months back.

    https://www.antiquers.com/threads/w...ou-but-your-kids-don’t-want-your-stuff.26902/

    Buy what you like & is something that makes you smile when you look at it. If you are able to make money on it some day then that is a bonus. It is usually a mistake to buy something like this for investment or with the hope that someone else will some day love it as much as you do. However as has been stated above if you like, can afford it & want it then buy it.

    Most of us here are collectors of something (in reality this should be plural :bag::bag::bag:), but most of us know our kids or our grandkids are not interested in our collections.

    My main collection is old perfume atomizer bottles. My sons are certainly not going to be interested. I am hoping that some day my granddaughter will keep at least a few to remember me by, but in the end they are going to most likely be sold & sent off to others.

    Just some food for thought. :D:D:D

    Its a lovely set,but just my opinion that the price is too high even for a complete set . Shops are literally groaning with sets like this as no one really seems to want them anymore.Am I wrong in assuming they want $150 for the pieces shown ??? Quick story that may shed some light...I was at a shop where they had a set of Havilland china, complete set for 6, including serving pieces, for $20.They had sat there so long the owner wanted them gone that badly. I looked ,I said "no thanks" and she then told me $10 and their yours. So I bought them. Fast forward 6 months,I have NO storage or use for them, nobody in my family wanted them, and the thrift I finally donated them too were rather reluctant to take them!

    $150 is a great deal if you compare it with buying new. The problem is no one's buying the new stuff. That may change in the future but I wouldn't bet on it. I'd check the local thrifts if you really want a tea set. Estate sales too. On the last day of a sale things go cheap.

    Very nice set, but at that price it is not a real bargain, just my opinion.

    Ok, thanks for your replies you guys. I also have too many interests and not enough moneys lol. I don't know what they want for it yet but I think I can get it for 100 or less, I was just trying to get a good idea of what I should give for it since I have never bought anything like this. Thanks again for all your insights, you all are a verry helpfull croud!
