Featured Cap Badge? / Collar Badge? Who knows!

Hello everyone,
I have recently purchased a job lot of various items & not knowing anything about Militaria I am seeing a few items of interest and wonder if anyone could please tell me more.
The first is a small silver badge bearing ER VII.
There are hallmarks to the reverse as shown.
I'm seeing many versions of this type of badge online, however not this particular one?
I'd be very interested to learn more?
I'll be posting more items as I come across them.

Could this not be a commemorative (coronation) piece of jewelry, rather than militaria? The rhinestones make it more decorative. I thought collar/epaulette badges are generally plain.

 

Wasn't there a pinback that is now damaged? Given Carrington was a silversmith and jeweler, suspect a little pin commemorating the coronation and not created for military use.

How observant! I'm sure that you are correct, hence I just couldn't find a badge.

 

Yes it is. The pin is missing, but can be replaced.

 

As others have said I would think that this was a brooch to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII. Although the hallmark is for 1901 production of souvenirs probably started shortly after the death of Queen Victoria in readiness for the coronation of the new king which took place in August 1902.
The makers name looks like H.C & Co to me.
