The style is Georgian but..daheck? The protectors scratch test like silver, but there's a bitty chipped spot that tells me they're made like Sheffield Plate. The bases however show no trace of copper on the bottom. They're also filled with what looks like chalk or plaster of paris and have really stained felt on the bottom. The felt doesn't feel like new felt. The antique jewelery store guy shined them up onfortunately before putting them out for sale, so most of the clues were gone.

I know where I'm at with jewelry, but not (really) candlesticks. The designs were reproduced early and often.

I have had several that were cement filled but 20th century and stamped. One I tested that was not marked tested as sterling but just had thicker plate and I didn't scratch down far enough. They are a pretty pair!

Thanks. Thick isn't the word if they're silver. Even the bases test. From the condition of the felt they've been around a while.
