can you tell me about this corner piece?

Hi! i picked this up at a yard sale today and i'm not sure what this really is or where it might be from? The sale was in Charleston, SC.

 

Can we see a picture of the back and inside?

My guess:
I suspect that it is a 1920s-30s corner cabinet, missing the top that probably had a glass door. Probably mahogany veneer under the paint.
I also suspect that someone has painted it to fit into today's painted furniture craze.

Wait for other opinions, as I am not an expert

 

Although somewhat triangle-shaped, I don't see this as a "corner cabinet" since it is flat at the back.

 

I agree with Cluttered. I think the paint makes it far more interesting than if it had been original, such pretty colors!

 

I didn't notice the flat back. Just went with what was said about "corner" piece.

So it probably did not have a top piece.

Might be later than 20s-30s. More like a 1970s piece made for an entry where you hung a mirror over it.

Are those pink "marbled" feet (plus the diamond, bottom trim and top) actually stone or painted wood?

And what about the hole in the door? Just a missing knob or a keyhole?

My general impression (keeping in mind that everything I know about furniture was learned here ) is "Hollywood Regency."

 

Please disregard everything I said in my first post about 1920s-30s. After messi posted I looked closer and the medallion sure looked a lot like a piece of furniture my mother in law had. 1970s or later.
