Can you please help me identify the age of this sword and what the markings mean?

There is two diffrent number on each side of the blade? Maybe military or something. Thank you for any help you could give.

 

A cup hilt rapier....
maybe Spanish

 

Spanish or maybe Portugal Rapier?

 

I've never seen a Rapier with markings like this. Let alone numbers.

maybe you could offer up some information you already know that could help us, to help you....
such as..
how long is it
where did you find it
how long have you had it
does it have a sheath

is there anything else you know about it?

 

Ok the blade is 35 1/2" total length; 29" blade length. There is no sheath. I purchased it at an auction in Minnesota. I've done a little research and found it may be a transitional rapier c. Late 17th early 18th century. Transitional because the blade is shorter then earlier models. I guess the started to transition to a small swords around that period. Of course this is only if it's not a later replica. The only legible marks beside the number is a S in a circle and the letters A.M. under it. Here's some close up photos. I tried to write what I see because it's hard to get photos of it. I'm definitely not an artist. Lol
